Why an immigration test?

NZ, Immigration New Zealand, is the department involved in issuing Visas, New Zealand Citizenship, employment in New Zealand and other related issues. An immigration DNA test is ideal for confirming biological relationships between people; results can be used to support immigration documents and visas or residency applications. Testing for immigration can be done for paternity, maternity or even between other relatives such as grandparents and grandchildren. See more about our relationship testing services.

Ordering & paying for your immigration DNA test

EasyDNA accepts a number of different payment methods for your convenience.

What is the process I need to follow?

EasyDNA has been providing immigration DNA testing in New Zealand for many years. We can provide you with some basic guidelines and steps to proceed on our website but we would prefer to discuss each immigration case on an individual basis.

  • Once we have established the type of immigration DNA test your require and processed your payment, we will assemble you kit and deliver it to the address you specify. The kit will take around 2-3 working days to arrive. Inside the kit you will have the sterile buccal swabs, instructions and paper work as well as pre-addressed envelope to return the samples.
  • You will then need to make an appointment with your chosen sampler. Generally, people chose their family doctor although any other person exericising a profession can act as sampler. The person you choose as sampler is integral to maintain the chain of custody, ensuring that the scrupulous procedure, known as a chain of custody, is followed. (For a visual guide on how your samples will be collected for your immigration DNA test visit our sample collection guide)
  • In order to confirm the identification of every test participant, 2 passport photos per person will need to be taken along with a valid form of identification. These are some of the accepted forms in New Zealand: New Zealand passport, New Zealand driver’s licence, Overseas passport, HANZ 18+ photo ID card (approved photographic Evidence of Age Document under the Sale of Liqour Act in New Zealand.)

Testing when test participants live outside New Zealand

EasyDNA is an international company operating through a large network of offices world-wide. This means that we are able to co-ordinate DNA testing when test participants live in different countries efficiently.

EasyDNA can organise testing between alleged relatives living in New Zealand and relatives living in other parts of the world. Thanks to our many world-wide offices and organisational capabilites, we are able to service clients based in even the remotest parts of the globe.

We suggest consulting and reviewing information found on the New Zealand immigration website. Here you will get access to all the information you need regarding working and living in New Zealand. Entry, work permits and employment in New Zealand are based upon a point system; having a blood relative in legally residing in the country does not automatically make you eligible for residency or visa.
